About the Authors of Cyber Law In Malaysia: Principles And Practices:

Dr. Sonny Zulhuda holds the position of Associate Professor at the Ahmad Ibrahim Kulliyyah of Laws, International Islamic University Malaysia (IIUM). With two decades of experience, he has instructed cyber law courses at both undergraduate and postgraduate levels. Dr. Sonny has actively collaborated with various government agencies on cyber law-related initiatives, focusing on areas such as cyber security, personal data protection, critical national information infrastructure, and data sharing legislation. He serves as a member of the Malaysian Personal Data Protection Appeal Tribunal and is affiliated with several professional organizations including ISACA, the Internet Society, ICANN Fellowship, International Association of Privacy Professionals (IAPP), and the Global Internet Governance Academic Network (GigaNet).

Dr. Ridoan Karim serves as a lecturer within the Department of Business Law & Taxation at the School of Business, Monash University Malaysia. He has been instrumental in establishing the Cyber Law Unit at Monash Malaysia for both undergraduate and postgraduate programs. Dr. Ridoan has contributed as a consultant and fellow on various initiatives funded by the University of Malaya and the Monash Data Futures Institute (MDFI). Additionally, he frequently leads professional training sessions in partnership with Monash University, the REHDA-Institute Digital Marketing program, ESSELARO, and other private and public organizations. Dr. Ridoan holds a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) from the University of Malaya, a Master of Business Administration (MBA) from the University of Chichester in the UK, a Master of Comparative Laws (MCL) from the International Islamic University Malaysia (IIUM), and a Bachelor of Laws (LLB) from BRAC University in Bangladesh.
