This is the first contract law casebook to include extracts from Singapore court judgments as well as excerpts from pertinent Singapore legislation. It is intended to aid in the teaching and learning of Singapore contract law by providing the reader with a systematic framework for comprehending the fundamental legal concepts that underpin the many doctrinal aspects of the topic. Every chapter begins with an overview of a key topic, such as contract formation, contract interpretation, and contract discharge, to help the reader navigate a curated collection of case extracts from some of the most important contract law cases to emerge from the Singapore High Court and Singapore Court of Appeal. Users of this book are encouraged to read the materials critically in light of the accompanying commentary provided in each chapter, reflect on the "grey" areas of the law that have sparked debate, and consider whether Singapore contract law is similar to, or different from, the position taken elsewhere.
