Since its revision, the legal framework has undergone significant changes through the Women’s Charter (Amendment) Act 2022 (Act 3 of 2022), the Family Justice Reform Act 2023 (Act 18 of 2023), and the Women’s Charter (Family Violence and Other Matters) (Amendment) Act 2023 (Act 21 of 2023). In addition, the Family Justice (General) Rules 2024, the Family Justice Courts Practice Directions 2024, updated court forms, and the Family Justice Courts’ Therapeutic Justice Model 2024 came into effect in October 2024.
