About the Author:

Dr. Rahamatthunnisa Mohamed Nizamuddin, commonly known as Dr. Nnisa, is recognized as a trailblazer in the field of intellectual property (IP) in Malaysia, boasting over 25 years of invaluable experience. She holds a Doctor of Philosophy (Law) degree, with her thesis focusing on an IP-related subject, and a Master's in Intellectual Property from the National University of Malaysia (UKM). In 1995, she earned her Bachelor of Law with Honours from the Mara Institute of Technology, distinguishing herself as one of the few students delving into the realm of IP at Law School.

Dr. Nnisa successfully completed the Patent Agent Examination in 1999, becoming a registered patent agent. In 2003, she joined the Intellectual Property Corporation of Malaysia (MyIPO) as its inaugural Legal Officer. Throughout her tenure at MyIPO, she played an active role in reviewing IP legislation and presented papers at both national and international seminars. Dr. Nnisa is also renowned for delivering numerous talks and presentations on various IP topics to government and non-government organizations. In 2009, she ventured into her own training and consultancy business focusing on intellectual properties.

Since 2009, Dr. Nnisa has been lecturing on Industrial Designs in Malaysia to students pursuing Masters in Intellectual Property at the National University of Malaysia (UKM) and later to those specializing in Masters in Business Law. In 2018, she assumed the role of CEO at Amacha Filles Sdn. Bhd. (1280276K). Currently, Dr. Nnisa is furthering her academic pursuits by pursuing a Masters in IP Innovation and Management (IP Business) program with the Singapore University of Social Science.
