The responsibility of businesses is discussed in this book under various circumstances. The corporate vehicle is utilised in many different commercial disciplines, and the corporation, its directors, and executives might be held accountable for a variety of legal violations.

This book, which is comprehensive in its content and offers much-needed guidance on corporate liability following the adoption of section 17A of the Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission Act in June 2020, also addresses the responsibility of businesses for the actions of its owners and executives who misuse the corporate vehicle. This is related to the current top issue over determining beneficial ownership of corporations, which will be legally covered in light of forthcoming Companies Act 2016 revisions.

The notion of independent legal personality is examined in the book, as well as the culpability of corporations in a variety of legal contexts, including contract, tort, criminal, securities, banking, environmental, and occupational safety and health legislation. The laws governing how businesses are held accountable for the illegal misdeeds of their directors, workers, and agents are carefully examined.

The book offers advice on preventative actions businesses may take, such as the "adequate procedures" outlined in section 17A of the Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission Act. It also examines potential defences used by businesses and their personnel. The potential penalties that can be applied to businesses for violating corporate responsibility are taken into account.

Company directors, company secretaries, business owners, attorneys, judges, lawmakers, and regulators should all warmly welcome this book.
