Malaysia has established its own Parliamentary procedures, methods, norms, and practises in its six decades of independence. This book is intended to serve as a comprehensive reference for parliamentarians, parliamentary officials, civil workers, serious scholars and researchers, and the general public with an interest in parliamentary matters. Contributors and editors have purposefully decided to examine not only Parliamentary laws, but also the procedures and underlying concepts that underpin these laws and practises. The detailed explanations and examples provided in this book will surely aid the reader in better understanding and practising each rule.

The book's authoring has included the required inputs and thoughts from a vast pool of specialised contributors beyond the immediate boundaries of Parliament, in keeping with the book's goal and scope. The contributors include legal practitioners, members of academia, a politician, and the Chairman of the Malaysian Elections Commission, in addition to the Speaker, the Clerk of the Dewan Rakyat, senior officers in the Clerk's Office, research officers, and officers in the Speaker's Office.
