Description of A Director’s Legal Guide to Navigating The Corporate Board by Liza Khan:

The boardroom represents both a destination and a beginning—a setting where strategy, financial decision-making, and human values intersect, and where the responsibilities of a director require confidence, clarity, and courage. In Boardroom Voyage, Liza Khan draws upon her personal experiences to clarify the complexities of corporate governance for directors, founders, and professionals whose primary expertise is not in law.

Through practical and accessible guidance, the book explains legal obligations such as good faith, loyalty, and duty of care by translating them into applicable practices within the boardroom. It also addresses contemporary challenges including ESG, DEI, cybersecurity, and artificial intelligence, offering perspectives and practical approaches suited to today’s evolving corporate environment.

Beyond serving as a legal reference, the book also acts as a guide for personal development in leadership roles. Liza reflects on challenges such as unseen barriers, unconscious bias, and the human aspects of leadership, encouraging readers to develop confidence, form meaningful collaborations, and lead with integrity.

Drawing inspiration from mentors, colleagues, and family, Boardroom Voyage reflects a wealth of experience, insight, and commitment. It aims to assist directors in managing their responsibilities with confidence, strategic awareness, and clear purpose, ensuring that every step in their boardroom journey is supported by knowledge and strong conviction.

Readers are ultimately invited to take their place at the table and begin their own journey in the boardroom.
