This anthology compiles the prose and poetry that appeared on the “Court Jester” page of the Lawyers Collective magazine between 1993 and 2003. The column was widely enjoyed and highly popular during its run. Although the original pieces have long been out of print and not easy to obtain, readers consistently requested that they be gathered and released as a single volume. The writings remain delightful and insightful even today, as human folly never truly disappears—ridiculous behaviour persists, and inflated egos always need deflating.

About the Author of Court Jester by Raju Z Moray:

A graduate of St. Xavier’s College and Government Law College, Bombay, Mr. Moray is a practicing lawyer. He was admitted to the bar in 1985 and began his career in the chambers of Advocate Michael F. Saldanha (who later served as a judge of the Bombay and Karnataka High Courts). For more than 35 years, Mr. Moray has written articles and poems for various Lawyers Collective publications. His collection of “Court Jester” columns was published to critical praise in 2017 under the title COURT JESTER. In December 2021, he released THE LOCKED DOWN LAWYER, a compilation of 60 poems written during the pandemic lockdown.
