Our daily lives are deeply influenced by the digital realm—whether through emails, social media, virtual meetings, cloud storage, digital finance, data sharing, or online searches. With this growing dependence comes an increase in cyber risks and security breaches. A major cyberattack can disrupt global IT systems, potentially halting business operations worldwide. Scams, hacking, and phishing lead to significant financial and data losses. In response, it is essential to maintain heightened vigilance, a strong awareness of threats, and robust cybersecurity systems to safeguard all sectors of society.
This book explores how Malaysia has responded legislatively to these growing digital threats. It offers a comprehensive overview of the Cyber Security Act 2024 (CSA 2024), examining cybersecurity governance and the protection of critical national information infrastructure. It also presents key frameworks and best practices for handling cybersecurity incidents.
Furthermore, the book discusses the licensing framework for cybersecurity service providers under CSA 2024, helping readers understand how these regulations aim to improve consumer protection, raise industry standards, and strengthen Malaysia’s overall cybersecurity landscape. This resource is especially useful for legal professionals, cybersecurity experts, compliance officers, business leaders, and students seeking to navigate the evolving field of cyber law and security in Malaysia.
