About the Authors:
Ambikai S. Thuraisingam earned her Bachelor of Laws from the University of London and completed the Certificate of Legal Practice (CLP), gaining admission as an Advocate and Solicitor of the High Court of Malaya in 2004. Before studying law, she obtained a professional qualification in Administrative Management (UK) and has been lecturing in management-related subjects since 1994. She holds a Master of Laws (LL.M) from Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia and a PhD in Business Law. Ambikai is the author of Business Law Made Easy (2013) and currently lectures at Taylor’s University. Her teaching portfolio includes Criminal Law, Alternative Dispute Resolution, Banking & Finance Law, and Business Law at the undergraduate level, as well as Medical Ethics, Research Methods, Informed Consent, and Confidentiality at the postgraduate level.
Cheryl Nicholson graduated with an LL.B (Hons) from the University of Thames Valley and subsequently completed the Certificate in Legal Practice (CLP). She was admitted as an Advocate and Solicitor of the High Court of Malaya in 1989. After an active career in litigation, she transitioned into academia and earned a Master’s in Comparative Laws from the International Islamic University Malaysia. Throughout her teaching career, she has developed and taught numerous law modules for both Business and Law students, including Business Law, Banking Law, Employment Law, Contract Law, Company Law, Alternative Dispute Resolution, Conflict of Laws, and Commercial Law. Cheryl retired from full-time teaching in 2017 and later served as the Director and Secretary of the Advocates & Solicitors Disciplinary Board for a year before returning to teaching part-time, a role she continues to this day.
