Succession law holds significant importance in Shariah, with detailed guidelines on distribution and entitlement clearly outlined. This third edition retains the original content from the first and second editions, while introducing a more in-depth discussion on conditional hibah, which is categorized into umra and ruqba, as well as on obligatory bequests (wasiyyah wajibah). These additions build upon the second edition’s coverage of hibah and wasiyyah, reflecting current developments in wealth management, financial planning, and estate planning among Muslims in Malaysia—an area that continues to grow alongside the expansion of estate planning products offered by financial institutions.
Featuring numerous examples and exercises, this book is a valuable resource for students, legal practitioners, judges, and anyone interested in understanding the distribution of a Muslim’s estate upon death.
