About the Author:

Ronnakorn Bunmee is an Assistant Professor of Law and serves as Vice-Rector for Student Affairs and Legal Affairs at Thammasat University, with academic expertise in criminal law and human rights law. He is a member of the Committee on the Prevention and Suppression of Torture and Enforced Disappearance and acts as an adviser to the National Human Rights Commission on the protection of vulnerable groups. Dr. Bunmee has contributed to the preparation of United Nations human rights reports on behalf of the Thai government and has appeared as an expert witness in significant criminal proceedings, including Neville v Secretary of State for Justice [2021] EWHC 957 (Admin) and Thai Constitutional Court Decision No. 3/2567 (2024). He holds a PhD from the National University of Singapore and a Doctor of Laws from Thammasat University, as well as an LLM in Human Rights Law from the London School of Economics and Political Science as a Chevening Scholar, and an LLM in Criminal Law from Thammasat University.
