The Constitution of the State of Sabah is the fundamental legal document that outlines the structure, functions, and powers of the state government of Sabah, one of the 13 states in Malaysia. It came into force on 16 September 1963, the day Sabah (then known as North Borneo) joined the Federation of Malaysia.

It defines the roles of the Head of State (Yang di-Pertua Negeri), the State Legislative Assembly, the Executive Council, and the Public Service Commission. It also governs financial management, public service conduct, and the state’s legal and administrative framework.

While Sabah’s constitution grants it a high degree of autonomy, it remains subject to the Federal Constitution of Malaysia, especially on matters listed under federal jurisdiction. However, under the Malaysia Agreement 1963 (MA63), Sabah retains certain special rights and safeguards, such as control over immigration, land, and resources.

The Constitution is divided into six parts, comprising 58 Articles and two Schedules. It can be amended by a two-thirds majority in the Sabah State Legislative Assembly.
