Trust and Corporate Governance in Digitalisation examines how core legal concepts such as equity, fiduciary responsibility, and trust law are being reshaped by digital innovations including blockchain technology, distributed ledger systems, and decentralised autonomous organisations (DAOs). It traces the development of trust law from its equitable foundations to its contemporary role within digital environments, where automation, transparency, and decentralisation have fundamentally altered traditional ideas of trust and accountability.

The book is structured into ten chapters that address major themes such as digital property and asset classification, governance frameworks in blockchain networks, fiduciary duties within decentralised structures, remedies for digital breaches of trust, and the complexities of estate planning and tax compliance involving cryptocurrencies and other digital assets. High-profile failures, including the collapse of FTX, are used to illustrate the pressing need for effective corporate governance in technology-driven markets.

Taking a comparative approach, the book draws on legal developments from Malaysia, the United Kingdom, the United States, Singapore, and Europe, placing domestic reforms within wider international discussions on regulation, compliance, and ethical digital conduct. It provides valuable insights for legal practitioners, corporate leaders, regulators, and policymakers navigating the intersection of law, technology, and trust.

In addition to its scholarly analysis, the book offers practical guidance on designing governance structures, drafting digital wills and trusts, and recognising emerging forms of property such as cryptocurrencies and digital assets. By linking legal theory with technological practice, it equips readers to promote integrity, accountability, and resilience in the rapidly evolving digital economy, making it an essential reference for aligning innovation with sound legal and ethical governance.
