About The Authors:

Samuel Becher is a Professor of Law at Victoria University of Wellington, New Zealand. He holds an LL.B. from Tel Aviv University and earned his LL.M. and J.S.D. from Yale Law School after serving as a clerk to the Chief Justice of the Israeli Supreme Court. He has published more than 100 academic works cited by scholars, courts, and policymakers. Professor Becher has received several awards for his teaching and research and is frequently invited to speak internationally and advise on legal and academic matters.

Benjamin Alarie is a Full Professor and the Osler Chair in Business Law at the University of Toronto Faculty of Law. He holds degrees from Wilfrid Laurier University, the University of Toronto, and Yale Law School. After clerking at the Supreme Court of Canada, he joined the University of Toronto in 2004. His research focuses on tax law, judicial decision-making, and artificial intelligence. He has published widely and introduced the idea of the “legal singularity” in 2016.
